The Rumors are True: Ford Makes Retail Lineup Announcement
It’s the end of the line for the Ford Fiesta subcompact, Fusion midsize and Taurus full-size sedans, Ford Motor Co. announced Wednesday. Shedding most of its North American car lineup is part of Ford’s broad plan to save money and make the company more competitive in a fast-changing marketplace. The changes include getting rid of all cars in the region during the next four years except for the Mustang sports car and a compact Focus crossover vehicle, CEO Jim Hackett said as the company released first-quarter earnings. The decision, which Hackett said was due to declining demand and profitability, means Ford will no longer sell the Fusion midsize car, Taurus large car, C-Max hybrid compact and Fiesta subcompact in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. At Badger Truck Center, we will be able to continue to sell the vehicle segments that we currently stock while leveraging our knowledge in the SUV and commercial truck market, as we have done for over 50 years.
